On April 21, we learned that three young Tibetan women were tried for their involvement in protests in Lhasa as well. Among them, 21 year old Penkyi of Sakya County was sentenced to death for "starting fires in two downtown clothing shops on March 14,” according to state-run media. 23-year old Penkyi from Nyemo County and 20-year old Chime Lhamo were each sentenced to life imprisonment and 10 years in prison each for their role in the same fire.

WHAT TO SAY:
- Mention your name, where you’re from and how old you are.
- Say that you are calling because of the urgent human rights crisis inside Tibet. Say that you are specifically concerned about the fate of three political prisoners, Lobsang Gyaltsen, Loyak and Penkyi, who face imminent execution for taking part in the Lhasa protests in March 2008. Say that there are four other Tibetans have also been given harsh sentences without due process.
- Urge them to do everything they can to ensure that Lobsang Gyaltsen, Loyak and Penkyi’s death sentences are immediately reversed as they could be executed any day and have not had due process in their trials according to international standards.
- Call on them to do everything possible to ensure that Tibetan political prisoners receive fair and open trials with observers from the Canadian Embassy being allowed to attend.
