International Trade Minister Day: Raise the Tibet Crisis

Canada's International Trade Minister Stockwell Day will be traveling to China on April 7th to open new trade offices and to promote Canadian businesses. This trip comes at a time of high tension in Tibet and amidst new reports of arrests and beatings in eastern Tibet. Continental Minerals, a junior Canadian mining company that is leading the effort to exploit Tibet's resources, has been invited to join the trip.

**URGENT: On April 8th, Chinese authorities sentenced two Tibetans Lobsang Gyaltsen and Loyak, to death for their alleged involvement in last year's protests in Lhasa. Two others, Phuntsok and Kangtsuk, were also sentenced to death but with a two year reprieve, and Dawa Sangpo was sentenced to life imprisonment.**
